Why does weed have such an extreme negative effect on me?

Drugs like that affect people in different ways, but what you're describing is fairly common from what I've witnessed. Memory issues and emotional outbursts are among the top problems, but they won't just affect you while you're taking the drugs. The effects seem to be long-term from what I've seen. If they bother your senses, judgement, and the ability to lead your life normally, then I suggest you quit. I personally had to quit for much of the same. I suffer a brain disorder which severely effected how the drug worked on my body, and needless to say it was never enjoyable to me. So ask yourself, to the positive outcome you feel you get outweigh the sometimes debilitating negative reactions you have?

Me and my gf broke up she said it was because she thought we weren't compatible but she later told a female friend of mine that it was because she thought I deserved better than her. See I don't drink smoke or do drugs I have a bad past because of my fathers choices to do that stuff i decided at an early age to not do any of that. How can I make my parents less overprotective?

I'm 15 years old, about to turn 16 in about 4 months. A sophomore in high school. My parents are VERY overprotective. I can't go anywhere by myself, literally. Movies, county fairs, or parties. I'm surprised they don't go to school with me. If I ever want to be parent-free, I have to go to my friend's houses and have them take me places. And it's almost like pulling teeth to get them to let me go to my friends' houses. They take FOREVER to decide whether or not I can go. When I CAN go, they call me every 10 minutes asking me what I'm doing, and they pick me up the next morning at like 8:00 A.M.. I mean, seriously??? Most girls my age don't get picked up until, like, the afternoon the next day!! I can't have a boyfriend, either. I'm allowed to "say" I have one, but I can't go anywhere with them, so most of the time I don't even bother trying to get a boyfriend, since there's no fun in just texting them all the time and not seeing them outside of school. My parents are extremely overprotective when it comes to boys. That's mainly the reason I can't go to the movies or anywhere like that: they think boys will be there. Okay, I know that boys around my age can't be trusted much, but I'm more responsible than that. I'm not gonna go get pregnant or anything. I have more going for me than having sex. I get straight A's in school, I'm a cheerleader, I'm in my school's concert band, and I sing at my church as well. A lot of people who go to jail for minor drug offences like marijuana, end up coming out criminals, because they get "Turned-Out" in prison, most guys get forced to join a gang, and usually have to do something to prove themself like kill another gang member and it changes them. Spending three years with nothing but criminals is most likely going to turn you into one. Why won't my school compromise?

I'm a freshman in high school in Texas that has year round schooling. So I'm like NEVER in trouble at school at all (I'm actually an honors student) but this morning I let my friends peer pressure me into joining them in bullying a girl during PE class, and we totally got caught. I felt bad about it as soon as I did it and I HAVE apologized. I know it was wrong. But the school isn't cutting me ANY slack even though I have a great track record. I need a little guidance in my life?

I'm 18 and very soon to be 19. My whole life I've lived in fantasies. I've spent time pretending to be a high school basketball star, a star athlete, a genius writer. The list goes on. I've always strived to impress, or rather make a strong impression on a group of people who are either ignorant or doubtful of my latent talent. With highschool done, I have no immediate group of peers left to make a strong impression on. Because I'm so slow I can't keep a fast paced job and I lost my only well suited job at a call centre due to my own stupid negligence (lesson learned). I'm slowly watching myself become less of a "child with potential" and growing into a grown man who lives with his parents, has no job or drivers license. I failed my first semester of University and I'm really skeptical that I will do well. For the past few years, I've been stuck in a guitar playing fantasy. It started in high school when I was 15 I received a guitar. I immediately started fantasizing about impressing my high school peers. I became fixated on it, and I deluded myself into thinking that I would "win" and the credits would roll. I would have a "Yo Adrian, I did it!" moment. I'm still stuck in that fantasy, and I'm begin to test the patience of not only my parents and those around me, but myself. I'm self aware enough to know that I probably won't have enough success as a musician to support myself financially. This dream/fantasy, the guitar one I mean, is different. I'm playing shows, and getting infront of audience. However I can't help but feeling like a archetypical loser. I mean, no job, failing university student with some deluded rockstar dream? The crazy part is, I STILL fantasize. I get home from playing a show and I put on music and fantasize about impressing people. But not at a show... at a party with a group of peers who are ignorant and/or doubtful of my abilities! It's crazy, I've already made my shows known to people, and the girls who never paid attention in high school are curious about when the next show is. On the one hand, I'm the guy who's winning over club owners with my songs and lyrics and slowly becoming into the adult I want to be. My best by far was the first Warsong Gultch I did with my 26 pally. I got Ironman and Wrecking Ball in the same bg. Was good times. I captured the flag all three times and got 20 kills without death. What class/race combo should i play with in Cataclysm?

Since Caty my attention span with characters has been going down a lot. I've literally played every class already. But since I have more than 1 class that I enjoy, I will be playing one and feel like the other is best... it's almost like a guilt trip :P I do very well with Warlocks, Shamans, Druids, and Rogues. If someone could give advice on on these and make me swing towards one or the other, because I get stuck in the 40-50 lvl range so I actually have characters of each class in that range so it wont be that bad like starting over from lvl 1. I'm on the Horde. I already have a 85 Mage and 85 DK (got them to 80 in WotLK and took time getting them to 85 once i got Caty) and i just get bored with them now. But i do PvP with them sometimes. I'm a PvP person, so I guess factor that into your advice for classes. I also want to go as far as saying that race has an impact on my choice too. Before Caty i would never do a tauren druid but now i would play a tauren. On the Horde, idk why, but i dont concentrate well with Orcs, Undead, and Goblins (sorry to those who play horde and Orcs, Undead, and Goblins who answer this) Undead actually used to be my favorite but for some reason i dont like it anymore. I dont use heirlooms because i like the challenge i get by starting like everyone did in vanilla and BC, but if you think I should use them then just say so and ill just do dungeons and get Justice Points for them. so if anyone can give a helping hand with this, it is deeply appreciated.

OK I have a mild mental disorder and live in an apartment complex with several of my peers as well as other people from all walks of life. All of my close neighbors have families with children. The complex is offering a summer lunch program for all children aged 1-17 and all the residents that are considered disabled such as myself. Last year i went hard on the pot. and i became more stupid just cuz i had so much access to it i was too busy thinking of when im gonna get high next caused me to fail. i then quit for 3 months got my grades to a 50-60 (a pass) and well went on the pot again. Ok so the last question i asked may have lacked detail. I had a period December 2nd im thinkin it was a real period but i had sex about 3 times through out december after that as well. Ive been doing some research, and I've come to the conclusion that half the people on here are completely disrespectful and very ignorant. So say, I ask a question on a topic that's meaningful to me, as an example, 'smoking marijuana'. Recently, I got caught stealing at Walmart. This was my first time and will be my last time stealing. It was mostly due to peer pressure and all that. I learned my lesson and my plan was to pay the fine and not even tell my parents. I started a full time job and can not get the mail, so I asked my brother, which ended up revealing that he too got caught stealing from Walmart and since he is under 18 and had no ID, he has to go to court. Now that he knows, I know he will throw me underneath the bus and tell my parents. I am nervous and worried that I will break my parents' heart and disappoint them. All I am asking is, how should I tell my parents that both their children were caught stealing? Is there any easy way to do this? What is you schools max GPA? If it is 4.0 then your GPA is pretty good. If it is 5.0 then that definitely needs to go up. The SAT score definitely needs to go up if you want to get into Duke. You have a lot of extracurricular activities and community service, which definitely helps. Take as many AP courses as you can, colleges love those and you get some credit for them as well. If you can raise your SAT then you can definitely get into at least half of your top five.

Question for parents of teen age boys only please.?

My son is almost 15 years old. He is a good kid, involved in 3 competitive sports, has good friends from good families but.... he and his friends have started to try alchol. It started about 7 months ago to the best of my knowledge. Another factor here is that his dad committed suicide about 18 months ago. Now I know this is not a reason to do what he is doing because the other boys are not in his situation and are doing it. He swore to me the last time he was caught that he had stopped. He will tell me when his friends do it and that they need to make better choices. I thought things had changed with him until yesterday when I found a small airline size bottle in our trash can. He had friends over the day before and swore that it wasnt his that it must have been one of the other boys. We went back and forth for several hours about if he was still doing it. Finally he said that he had done it a few more times since he had told me he stopped. How do I deal with this? He is in counseling and I know that it is a peer pressure thing that he has to learn to deal with but it is tearing me up inside...he is better than this. Its not every day or even every week, I keep a pretty tight reign on him. I'm glad he finally confessed and was honest with me but I'm not sure how much more I can control his life without keeping him on lock down and not allowing others into our home. I don't have any alcohol in my house anymore due to this very reason. Someone brought it with them. Any advice would be great!

What are my chances of getting into a University?

I really want to get into Hamline University, it is honestly my dream school. My grades have been very inconsistent, therefore leaving me with a rough 2.5 GPA, hoping I can get it up a little bit more with my first trimester in my senior year before I send in my application. I can get very good teacher reccomendations, I've done extracurricular activities such as Peer Mediation since 2004, I've lettered in Amnesty International and I've done Orchestra since I was in 6th grade and recently made it into honors. I've taken a number of honors and an AP class. I'm very high in math, and I always have good scores. I like to think that I've definately proved myself but the lack of consistency in my grades is what worries me. I just took the ACT and should be getting my score in a few days but i'm guessing I will get around a 23 or 25. Are there any good books on the time line of European history?

I'm looking for a reader-friendly book that charts the time line of events from ancient to modern European history. I saw a book like this a long time ago at a Barnes and Noble but don't remember the title. It basically described briefly the major events e.g. wars, famine, plague, inventions, empires, rulers, revolutions etc as well as provided detail on the basics of how people lived during each era. For example, what they did for entertainment, foods, weapons, architecture, etc. The book I'm looking for would provide details on the bronze era, iron age, dark ages, middle ages, Renaissance, Victorian era, etc. I know that's quite a bit of ground to cover, but not being a history expert, I was just hoping to find a book written for popular reading (not boring college textbook) that briefly provides detail (kind of like those DK books) and lots of cool pictures. Hopefully, a book like that exists. If not, someone should write one LOL. Thanks!

Wow ! you have true motivation. This is really impressive and it really looks like you want to follow real ambitions and make a differerence in your life. Keep up the positive attitude. So here are a few things to watch out for: Make sure you have a 4.0 GPA every single term and every single year. A- and A+ just get turned into A's on the final report card. So as long as you can maintain a status quo of more than 90% in all subjects that would look great on your application though it is hard. Secondly, make sure you can join enough clubs, around 3 or even two is fine. Make sure you are actively involved in one club at least and try to run for officer and get elected. Thirdly, be involved in a sport or two. If you aren't the athletic type much, try out for a simple sport like badminton or something. It will be easier on you,and it looks good on your college application. Have good impressions with all of your teachers. Ok, the AP courses: Most people just think that they can wing it. AP takes a lot of time to do homework for and study for. As soon as you come home take no more than a half an hour break to get ready for studying. You will have to squeeze all this in and if you can manage your time well, you will do great. I know this seems really overwhelming, but by the time you are done with high school, you will be in a great college. And 1400 is not at all a bad start for a seventh grader.My brother took the SAT in 7th grade and he got a 1750. But its still pretty good. Apply for different competitions and try your best in science and math bowls. All these things along with your personality and your desire to learn will help you get into a good colelge. All the best ! It is a long journey but you will make it. :-) And btw neurologist is a very prestigious profession, I would suggest you go for it. I smoke it and I enjoy it but I'm scared of being considered a stoner for some reason.. my bf smokes and it worries me every time he does it and i don't know why exactly. I've thought about it so much and I'm not sure if its just the weed or if its something else. We have been together 5 years, have a 4 year old ---, we never had a real relationship because we had a kid first. we didnt have that dating period.we moved in together right away and it was always work baby work. we never really did things with EACH other but as a family. He worked, i worked,he always made more than me. He did support me a big whole lot. Why won't my school compromise?

I'm a freshman in high school in Texas that has year round schooling. So I'm like NEVER in trouble at school at all (I'm actually an honors student) but this morning I let my friends peer pressure me into joining them in bullying a girl during PE class, and we totally got caught. I felt bad about it as soon as I did it and I HAVE apologized. I know it was wrong. But the school isn't cutting me ANY slack even though I have a great track record. I got sent home early with a form informing my mom what I did (totally fair) and that I will be getting swats tomorrow. I just think this is a gross overreaction. I've never even had detention but once! I haven't given my mom the letter yet, though I know I need to when she gets off work today. I'm not saying I shouldn't be punished at all, its just that swats seems so extreme. I just don't know why I can't get a little slack?

it doesnt happen everyday its random. i do eat alot n sometimes i make myself eat because if i dont eat i lose weight like it aint nothin. i dont actually pass out tho i get all of the symptoms and by the time i sit down i have to eat something like a candy bar before i can get up again i almost fainted 3 times in a row one day until i ate a candy bar then i felt great the rest of the day. i think its caused from low blood sugar but im not sure every time i go to the doctor for somethin they always say o...well we dk whats wrong with you so i jus thot id ask some other people before i went to the doctor.

Well honey here is what it sounds like guy agrees and thinks great idea he wants to be with his girl alone no problem you research and get the information give it to him. He goes and checks it out and it sounds like he couldn't do it with his financial situation for some reason is not going to be able to get it right now. They probably advise him to do this and that in a yr or a yr in a have. Home advisers usually tell you that. So he was ok np, you ask him about and wonder why ask him and he says well I was plain on doing it another yr are yr in a half. Its not you, but it sound like the typical man situation of some thing we would do lol and I'm thinking for sure that's what happened . If you don't want to smoke pot then no one should force you. That's a decision you have to make on your own. I will say though, pot is very relaxing and nice to smoke it once in a while. Everyday though would be too much for me. Everyone is different, just don't let someone else be the reason you smoke it. If you're curious yourself then go ahead there's nothing wrong with it.

Am I missing out on life?

I'm a rather shy and quiet person who prefers his privacy. Some people even say I'm a hermit. But the reason why I feel like I'm missing out on life is because I hardly go out with my friends or peers to pubs, night clubs or parties. Well, I don't even drink for that matter. But I hear other people talk about how much of a great time they had when they went out or I see loads of photos on Facebook of people drinking and having a good time with their mates and hanging out with hot girls and even going abroad with them. I can be sociable every once in a while but I feel like its not enough. My family want me to get into watching sports because it's a great way of meeting people but I think watching sports is boring and overrated. And two girls once told me that if I didn't become more sociable I wouldn't be able to do anything like have a girlfriend or even get married.
