How come some people want to be stoned/high on weed ALL DAY LONG?

Generally, people use drugs to cope to some degree, or escape. Weed is addictive for some people, but not everyone, which is why some people say it absolutely is not--but, I've seen a few hooked on smoking all day long, too.
