World of warcraft play help.?

k so i downloaded wow tbc and wotlk but when i log in on my wow account and creat toons i cant make a blood elf draenei or death knight and it says required the burning crusade, but i downloaded them, is it mabye because i dont have cata, and well before on christmas i got wow and the 2 expansions and i installed them, but the burning crusade kept failing to install so my sisters boyfriend gave me his wow tbc and wotlk Cd's which are older than mine and have 4 cd's instead of two. and the installation worked bc he sold his account and stoped playing wow a long time ago. So please tell me what i have to do to make a dk and blood elf/ draenei, i downloaded all of them.
